The Matt Evans Fan Club

We ran a "Walk for the Cure" type event this weekend - although it was not for something as important as curing Rabies (that was a reference to "The Office" for anyone that doesn't get that). It was to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, since my little brother has Type 1 (also known as Juvenile) Diabetes. It was 4.5 miles long and it is probably the first and last time Mike will ever run that far again.

Check out the awesome shirts that Matt made and sent out to us (on the front they say T1DM for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and under that, MEFC to show that we are part of the Matt Evans Fan Club):

And, this is the video of us after the run:

Did Mike say 4.5 miles in 14 minutes? Nope.
If you think he said that, you didn't hear him right. He really said 40 minutes. It would have been more like 20 minutes without him slowing things down, though.

That was great seeing your video! Wow you must have sprinted! The senery must have been a blur to make it that fast. The campus of Wake Forest sure looks pretty. Way to go Mike and Emily!!

Hey you two, thanks for the support! It was awesome. We raised 200 dollars here in Phoenix (which by the way was the biggest diabetes walk anywhere in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD) and I'm sure you guys donated at least 1,000 over there. By the way, NC looks gorgeous. Me gustaria vivir en un lugar bastante lindo.

Way to go Evanses!!! I'm so impressed that you ran the walk. I don't think I could jog the length of our street, let alone 4 1/2 miles....but I would walk it for Matt!! You two are looking good!
