Saying Goodbye

In June we had to say goodbye to many good friends who were moving. It happens every year, but that doesn't seem to make it any easier. I guess popsicles do :)

Myrtle Beach

In July we enjoyed our annual trip to the beach with the Beards. Like last year, the daddies had to stay home and work and the mommies and the kids got to have all the fun. While we can't describe a trip with the kiddos relaxing, it sure was enjoyable!

Rowan loved playing in the sand.

Sadie felt the need to wear her life jacket while digging in the sand with Griffin.

Proof that mommy was there.

Sadie learned to dunk her head in the water all by herself in the pool for the first time ever. She was very proud of herself!
Griffin and Sadie snuggled up to read.

July 4th

We had a great 4th. In the morning we went to a swimming party then had a few friends over to cook out. Since Sadie is still afraid of "boom booms", there was no need to keep the kids up let for fireworks.

Sunday

In June, Sadie gave her first talk. It was about tithing and she did it all by herself. Way to go Sadie!

While Mommy & Rowan play, Daddy & Sadie nap.

I love this boy in his Sunday best!

1st Birthday

For Rowan's first birthday he wanted to look tough... so, he got himself a black eye a few days before. We still think he is awfully cute!
To keep up with tradition, we got him a Dewey's cake for his first taste of sweets. Why not go all out and super sugary?
He was a little sleepy at this point and not sure what to do with his messy hands. He thought the cake was yummy though when I fed him some with a fork.
He enjoyed opening his gifts, and Sadie enjoyed helping.

Rowan's Pre-Birthday

Grandma and Grandpa wanted to celebrate Rowan's 1st birthday with him. Although I was sad to see him grow up and resistant to celebrate early, we had a great time.
Look at this big boy. In a few weeks he won't be holding on for support any more!
Sadie and I just can't get enough of our little man. He is so happy, sweet and cuddly. His dad thinks I should use more manly words like tough and rugged. Maybe next year :)
His smile melts our hearts.
