AZ Fun

Sadie and I got to visit Arizona for 2 1/2 weeks! It was our longest trip yet and we had so much fun! If it wasn't for the heat and the fact that Mike was only able to be there for two days, we would have been sad to leave. I loved seeing friends, spending time with family and having free babysitting. Sadie even had a couple sleep overs without me. It was great! Who knew?!

Sadie Pearl with her Grandma Pearl and her Great Grand-daddy (I gave him this name myself because Mike's mom calls him Daddy, which I think is adorable).
Does this little girl look happy or what? She loved all the attention from her grandmas and cousins.
Sadie got to play with Mike's cousin Bridget's little girl Tess who is just her age. They were having too much fun to hold still for a picture.
Sadie loves her Uncle Matt,
and her Uncle Daniel.
Sadie and Brycen were such good helpers the day I watched them both and attempted to work. They sure know how to use a 10-key! Maybe they'll grow up to be accountants too.
Ann had us over for a cousin craft night. It was great to see everyone. I only wish we could get together more often!
Sadie and I went to Tucson to visit my friend Allie and her family. They showed us how the dessert can be pretty and how reptiles can be fun.

We had a play date with my friend Beth and her little cutie, Zoie.
We got to celebrate my Mom's 50th birthday!

D.C.

Last weekend we took a trip to D.C. to visit friends and see some sights. Mike got to go to a Diamondbacks vs. Nationals game with his friend Mark from AZ, and we got to see Blythe and Vaughn who recently moved to VA.

Vaughn gave us tour of the Capitol. He was an awesome tour guide!
Blythe and I next to the Brigham Young statue. Isn't her baby bump so adorable?
Sadie was all tuckered out. I thought it was so cute how she kept resting her head on her daddy.

Sadie didn't know what to do when we walked into Georgetown Cupcakes. Too many choices!

I guess we've made D.C. an annual tradition. Here are some pictures from our trip in August 2008 when Sadie was only 5 weeks old:

Birthday Girl

This little cutie turned ONE on July 13th! Check out her adorable birthday outfit: a cupcake shirt/tutu made by Aunt Alisa. Sadie is lucky to have such a thoughtful and crafty auntie!
Grandma and Grandpa were in town for Sadie's special day. She absolutely loved all the attention. Check out Sadie and Grandma's matching outfits... and matching hair. What beauties!
Mike's parents are always so sweet and so helpful when they visit. We also enjoy getting to do fun things with them like walking at Salem Lake. Sadie especially enjoyed herself!
The Saturday before Sadie's birthday we went to Burlington to see Brett & Liesl's new place, to swim, and to celebrate. Laurie, Sadie, Randy and Brett all have July birthdays. Brett and Sadie were even born on the same day! (just 25 years apart)

I can't believe how big my baby is getting. Has it really been a year? I was a little sad as her birthday approached, but it turned out to be pretty fun. Of course, everyday is fun with my little girl!
Christine, Matt & Sarah came over for cake and brought Sadie the cutest little book called "Hola Jalepeno!"

Sadie had Deweys' pink lemonade cake for her first sugary treat ever (unless Mike snuck her something while I wasn't watching). After a mishap with the candle, she finally calmed down enough to try her cake. And she loved it!

Sadie had a fun 4th of July:
Waving flags with Brycen.
Swimming in her new pool with Brinley...
and with Abby.
Picnicing with Ellie and Abby.

Grammie, Alisa & Brycen Visit

This past week Sadie had visitors and she was kind enough to share them with us. She had so much fun with her cousin Brycen. I'm not sure what she'll do with out him!

Brycen had never seen so much pink in his life. His face says it all!
We took the kids swimming at Tanglewood pool,

and then to Furnitureland where they picked out their favorite pieces.

We walked around at Old Salem,

and then went sight seeing on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
