Rowan's Pre-Birthday

Grandma and Grandpa wanted to celebrate Rowan's 1st birthday with him. Although I was sad to see him grow up and resistant to celebrate early, we had a great time.
Look at this big boy. In a few weeks he won't be holding on for support any more!
Sadie and I just can't get enough of our little man. He is so happy, sweet and cuddly. His dad thinks I should use more manly words like tough and rugged. Maybe next year :)
His smile melts our hearts.

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

Mike's parents come to visit in early June.
We had fun in the garden.

Fun at home.
Fun at Tanglewood Park riding bikes.

 Fun at Hanes Park.

These kids love their grandparents and can't wait for the next visit!

Colonial Williamsburg

One day of our trip to Williamsburg was spent at Colonial Williamsburg. Rowan did a lot of sleeping in the backpack and stroller, we all did a lot of sweating, and we all had fun.It would take many more days to cover all the attractions, so we just focused on some of the kid friendly ones so Sadie could get enough punches on her map to earn a souvenir.

Busch Gardens

This summer we took a family vacation to Williamsburg, VA. We all had a great time at Busch Gardens. There were exciting rides for the adults, tons of little rides and splash pads for the kids, and shows that everyone enjoyed. 3 months later Sadie still talks about how she wants to live in Virginia. I think she believes we would live in the theme park if we moved there. Plus, she wants to play with her friend Elena. We were so lucky to have our friends, the Disons, come from Virginia Beach to visit us. The day they spent with us was extra fun! Although we are missing many of our pictures from the trip as they were on our stolen laptop (sniff, sniff), here are some from Emma and our cell phones:

We can't wait to go back!
Our next trip will be even better as we learned some important lessons: 1) Don't have our child wear new shoes no matter how comfortable you think Crocs are. Otherwise, she'll being sporting the socks and sandals style the remainder of the trip. 2) It is always more fun to have a friend. Sadie is very good at finding one. However, Other children may not be too keen on having a little girl in the seat next to them when they are the only two children on the ride. It is best to bring a friend along! 3) Don't bother with the water park. Our kids aren't big on water slides no matter how small they are.
